Catch & Submit

Terms

These are the terms for using this site, holding an athlete account, entering a UGI Caged Grappling event and registering for a seminar. They describe how the site and the events actually work.

CATCH & SUBMITLAST UPDATED 17 August 2026
01

Who we are

Catch & Submit is a no-gi jiu-jitsu brand. UGI Caged Grappling is our own submission-only event series, and we produce it ourselves rather than sanction it out.

02

Your account

  • One account per person. An account is how your record follows you between events, and two accounts split it.
  • Your details need to be accurate. Weight, rank, age and experience are what a matchmaker pairs you on — a wrong number produces a wrong opponent, and that is a safety question rather than an administrative one.
  • Keep your sign-in to yourself. Anything done from your account counts as done by you.
03

Entering a UGI event

UGI is matchmade. There is no bracket and no division: a matchmaker pairs you with a named opponent using your weight, rank and experience.

So an entry is a request, not a place on the card. We look for an opponent who fits, and that does not happen for every athlete on every card. If we match you, we email you with your opponent and the details before the card is published.

Registration opens and closes at the promotion’s discretion, and an entry can be declined.

04

The rules you compete under

The UGI match rules published on this site are the rules. Two six-minute rounds, submission only, and a six-minute overtime decided by the first takedown if nobody finishes it.

The rules carry a version, and the version you agreed to is stored with your entry. If the rules change, what you agreed to does not change with them.

05

Risk

Grappling is a physical contact sport and carries a risk of injury. Entering an event means you understand that and confirm you are fit to compete.

You acknowledge that separately from accepting the rules and separately from media permission, and each acknowledgement is stored in the words you were shown.

06

Seminars

A seminar registration is a place on the list, not a purchase. Nothing is charged when you register and nothing is due before you arrive.

The mat fee is settled in person on the night — cash, Cash App, Venmo or Apple Pay. The amount is on the seminar’s own page.

An attendee under eighteen needs a parent or guardian named on the registration and reachable on the night.

07

Money

This site takes no payments. There is no checkout, and we never handle card details.

Where a UGI event carries an entry fee, the amount and how it is settled are stated on that event’s page and in your confirmation email. Any refund is whatever that event states — nothing is promised here on an event’s behalf.

08

Photographs and footage

We photograph and film our events, and with your permission that footage is used to promote UGI. Permission is a separate tick from entering, and you can enter without giving it.

A portrait you supply stays yours. Permission to use it is not a transfer of copyright, and it is used for UGI promotional material rather than sold on.

09

Apparel and custom orders

The apparel line is in development and nothing can be ordered through this site today. When a drop is live, it will say so and carry its own terms.

Custom team kit starts as an enquiry by email, not as an order placed here.

10

What is on this site

The Catch & Submit and UGI names and marks, the event graphics and the photography on this site belong to Catch & Submit or to the photographers who shot them. Please ask before reusing them.

Results, names and academies are the public record of the events and we are glad to see them reported.

11

Using the site

  • Do not register somebody else without their say-so.
  • Do not attempt to reach another person’s account, entry or photograph.
  • Do not scrape or automate against the site.

The site can be unavailable from time to time, for maintenance and for the ordinary reasons a website is.

12

Changes to these terms

This page carries the date it last changed. Entering an event holds you to the terms and the rules version in force when you entered.

13

Getting hold of us

Questions about an entry, a seminar or anything on this page reach a person rather than a queue.
